COVID Training Plan

Attend (10) online ZOOM classes
Attend (4) in-person ‘Skills Practice Labs
Complete the (50) Clinical Training Hours by becoming gainfully employed or by volunteering!
(Note: Employment or volunteering can start while attending online classes so you can graduate
even sooner. Read the stipulation below concerning the first five online classes.)

Students must schedule an in-person visit PRIOR to the start of the session they want to attend to complete the registration process and to pick up the training materials.

The theory and skills demonstration classes are provided through ZOOM over a three week period. Then immediately following the online classes the student will attend the (4) skills practice labs in-person at the school in compliance with the required mandates regarding social distancing and masking. Entry includes pre-screening including a touchless body temperature. Dark navy-blue scrubs also required.

To complete the (50) clinical training hours during the COVID pandemic period the student first needs to apply and obtain an (NAR) nursing assistant registration license online, then has the  option to become gainfully employed or to volunteer in a healthcare facility to do the  clinical training hours under the supervision of a facility nurse to complete the required WA. State skills worksheet.

Under the guidelines provided by Governor Inslee and the Department of Health-Nursing Commission the HIV/AIDS education part of theory has been waived to obtain the NAR license. And, although the student can apply at any time for both the NAR license and employment they must be an enrolled student of an NA training program and complete the minimum Federal hourly training requirement by attending the first (5) live online classes before having contact with patients in a healthcare setting.

Attendance to live online class will be by logging in from a computer, tablet or smartphone. Class attendance requires that you log in using the link for the time of day you choose to attend, either (AM) from noon to 2/2:30 p.m. or (PM) from 4:00 to 6/6:30 p.m. A camera is required and student is to remain actively engaged with the class until the instructor has determined the class has finished. Student is not to engage in any other activities while logged into class. Class ending time can fluctuate and is dependent upon lecture content and skills demonstrations duration.

The skills practice labs will be from either (AM) 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 / 2:30 or (PM) 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 / 6:30. p.m.
